let's get you entered and your film out to you asap

you enter using paypal after you've carefully read the next dozen or so lines

once we receive your paypal payment you've entered and we'll be in touch with the rules and a unique reference number (urn) within a couple of days. your film will get to you soon after that

when you enter, this year, you choose one of three types of reversal kodak super 8mm film

either colour ektachrome or black and white - either: tri-x or plus-x. these three only, no negative (you can't project negative)

for info on these filmstocks check out the website of our friends at the widescreen centre

we have limited numbers of each one so to be sure to get what you want, don't delay

you may want a second roll of the same type of film so you can test your camera, technique or just be totally savvy. if so, order a second roll when you enter, by using the test roll paypal button. (the price of the test roll doesn't include processing - you need to organise that. tho we can advise)

you make your straight 8 film on the roll we send you only and, new this year, your urn must be exposed clearly on the first three seconds of your film

you'll have till march 26 to deliver your finished and unprocessed film to us and upload your soundtrack

all this and full rules will be in the document we'll send you. if you don't get it soon after entering email helpingout@straight8.net and ask for it. you need the rules



so let's get on with it... here's what to do

we have to store a lot of information on our computer so that you can get on with being creative



make a note of the following details that you must give us during the paypal entry process, or failing that to email us asap after entering:

1. director name
2. one email address you want us to use throughout the process
   
3. name and postal address including country
4. one mobile phone number
5. a skype name, if you have one
6. choice of film: ektachrome or plus-x or tri-x
   

then use the paypal buttons below to build your order

one in two people forget to do postage - we mark their scores down when we judge their films
don't be one in two, be the other one in two and pay postage, please

the dvd's are great for inspiration - you'll see the best straight 8's ever made and some must-see making-of films. the t-shirts are just cool

you only pay one lot of postage no matter how many items you order in one go

make sure you've asked for everything you need

finally, proceed to checkout and make sure you cover the six points above by clicking 'add special instructions to seller' in the paypal checkout window. if you miss that please just drop us an email with the six questions answered...
