straight 8 08 stories...
"the film exists in my head. it's just a matter of finding
time, people and stuff. but hopefully it will come
together, though it looks like it may be tight on the
deadline"
from lemmy (name changed)
"sorry to straight8 u at the weekend but i have a bit of a problem in that my camera seems to have decided not to come out of single frame speed. i am firstly wondering if this is a common and recifyable condition??? and secondly wondering what i should do if its not fixable? i do have a couple of horribly inferior looking S8 cameras that i bought as cheap backups...... Can i remove the film in a dark back and switch it into another camera?? I have to complete everything this weekend as i have rented a van and an owl and borrowed lighting and my dry ice is fast disappearing etc etc..... Please advise best course of action!!"
from lemmy again
"My camera has developed a life of its own and is jamming up on almost
every shot now so i have to keep hitting the trigger till it finally
decides to kick in the motor. i think i am getting loads of single
frames and then a pretty randomly delayed start to my filming... which
should be interesting to say the least as most of my cuts r only a few
seconds long.... strangely enough i'm still feeling really optimistic
that everything is going to be great ;-)
however i'm filming again tues nite and think it mayb intelligent to
get it looked at first..... seeing as i've already had to take the
film out 3 times i dont suppose once more would make any difference!
hope all's well in straight8 land? we are loving it!"
from lemmy again
"dont worry we r smiling! i havent done anything this crazy in as long as i can remember and the great thing is my friends seem to be loving it too even though they had to spend last nite freezing in the woods in their t-shirts while i was busy either thumping the camera or whispering sweet nothings at it - neither of which made much difference :-0 anyway we still went home insanely pleased with our efforts which is an amazing feeling at 3am on a monday!"
