ed sayers
ed really didn’t know what he was getting himself into in 1999 when he asked 20 friends in film production if they wanted to join him in trying to make a coherent short film on one roll of super 8 each. all these years and some 3500 short films later, here we are. when not straight8ing, ed can be found working at shedquarters on other projects, such as the film - super nature - a love letter to nature created on super 8 by people connecting across the world, made with some of the straight 8 community. he is also on the board of trustees at the phoenix - one of london’s oldest independent cinemas.
alex glynn
alex started helping out on straight 8 in 2016 and now runs the bloody place. most of the clever stuff is down to him - at least that’s what he thinks! alex does all sorts of filmmaking and photography when he’s not on straight 8 stuff but not only that his cocktail making and barista-ring skills are off the scale.
sim dey
that jet lagged sim landed in her seat on a manchester bound train and confessed to the passenger next door that she was about to finish her film degree, but didn’t really want to make films… and wanted to work in production of film festivals. luckily or unlikely for sim, the passenger next to her was ed…. the rest is history. when sim isn’t straight8ing she’s working on film festivals like LFF and BFI flare, manchester indian film fest and more. when you buy film from us, it’s usually sim that gets it out to you
carlotta beck peccoz
carlotta is helping out on events, socials and lots more on straight 8 - when she’s not busy being a director, assistant director, producer or dog-mom of toby the dog - or making the world’s finest tiramisu
